Jack Smith is an associate attorney at Higgins Estate Group, where he handles contested probate matters, inheritance disputes, and estate litigation throughout Middle Tennessee. He has represented clients in both Tennessee state courts and federal court, and brings substantial litigation experience to the firm’s estate and probate practice.
Before joining Higgins Estate Group, Mr. Smith practiced at Stranch, Jennings & Garvey, PLLC, where he developed experience in complex litigation, including probate litigation. His background in high-stakes litigation environments informs his approach to contested estate matters — whether that means a disputed will, a removal proceeding against a mismanaging executor, or an inheritance conflict among heirs.
Mr. Smith is an alumnus of the University of Tennessee College of Law (now the Herbert H. Baber College of Law), where he served as an editor of the Tennessee Law Review. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University.
Born in East Tennessee and raised in Atlanta, Jack has deep roots in the Southeast and a practical understanding of the families and communities Higgins Estate Group serves across Middle Tennessee.
Jack Smith is admitted to practice law in Tennessee.
