Jim Higgins founded Higgins Estate Group to serve families and heirs navigating the most difficult side of estate and probate law — contested matters, inheritance disputes, and litigation that requires an attorney willing to go to court.
A fourth-generation Nashvillian, Jim began his legal career on the defense side, representing insurance companies. That experience gave him a clear picture of how legal disputes are defended — and how to attack them. For years he has focused on representing clients in serious disputes, including contested probate matters and high-value inheritance conflicts throughout Middle Tennessee.
Jim is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an organization limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. He is licensed in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia, and has litigated cases across Tennessee and nationally.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.
Practice Focus at Higgins Estate Group: Probate litigation, contested estate administration, partition actions, inheritance disputes, executor misconduct, will contests, and fiduciary disputes throughout Davidson County, Williamson County, Rutherford County, and Middle Tennessee.
